Vintage Silver Plated Mother of Pearl Knife Rest | Ornate Ball End Table Cutlery Rest | Elegant Dining Tableware

*An elegant silver-plated knife rest with a genuine mother-of-pearl center bar, featuring distinctive rounded silver-plated ends with cross-form supports and ball terminals.

The softly lustrous mother-of-pearl handle displays attractive natural iridescence and subtle variations in color. Decorative fluted collars at either end add an additional classical touch, while the unusual ball-ended supports give the piece plenty of visual interest.

Knife rests were traditionally placed at individual place settings to keep a used dinner or carving knife elevated above the tablecloth between courses. Today, they make wonderful additions to a formal table setting, antique cutlery collection, or silver and mother-of-pearl collection. This example is compact and intended for an individual table knife rather than a large carving utensil.
