This is an exceptional hand-crafted 980 silver souvenir spoon from Jerusalem, featuring a richly detailed Jerusalem Cross finial and deeply repoussé-carved Middle Eastern foliage along the stem. These early Holy Land spoons were made in small workshops for pilgrims and travelers, typically in the late 19th to early 20th century, and were produced in very limited quantities.
The finial displays a bold Crusader-era Jerusalem Cross, framed by floral and geometric punch-work. The stem is decorated with highly textured foliate motifs, typical of the Old City silversmithing tradition. The bowl is smooth and oval, showing the handmade character of the piece.
Stamped “JERUSALEM 980” on the back of the bowl — a higher purity than sterling (980 vs. 925), consistent with artisan Middle Eastern silverwork.
