Birks BIR16 Sterling Silver 3-Piece Roast Carving Set – Knife Fork Sharpening Steel – Antique Beaded Scroll Handles
$249.00
Elegant 3-piece Birks sterling silver roast carving set in the discontinued BIR16 pattern, featuring a classic beaded border with decorative scrollwork.
The set includes a large carving knife, two-tine carving fork, and sharpening steel. Each piece has a beautifully detailed sterling silver hollow handle marked “BIRKS STERLING.” The sharpening steel is additionally marked “CAST STEEL,” and the carving knife bears a Birks maker's mark on the blade.
This handsome set was designed for carving and serving roasts, turkey, ham, prime rib and other large cuts of meat. The matching sharpening steel makes it an especially attractive and complete traditional carving set.
Included:
Large roast carving knife – approximately 12" long
Two-tine carving fork – approximately 9 3/4" long
Sharpening/honing steel
Sterling silver hollow handles with steel working portions
No monograms
Condition:
Very good vintage condition with a bright polished finish. The sterling handles are especially attractive and retain crisp decorative detail. There are normal light surface scratches and signs of previous use. The carving knife blade shows some scattered surface spotting/marks consistent with age, visible in the photographs. Fork tines and sharpening steel appear straight. Please examine all photographs closely, as they form an important part of the description.
A wonderful addition to a Birks sterling flatware service, or a beautiful standalone carving set for Thanksgiving, Christmas, holiday entertaining or formal dining.
