This beautiful sterling sterling silver ice cream slice is the perfect addition to any flatware collection. Created by George W. Shiebler in 1885 as a part of his Chrysanthemum collection, this piece features a stunning floral handle exemplary of the American Art Nouveau movement.
George W. Shiebler opened his company in 1876 in New York upon acquiring spoons-makers Coles & Reynolds. Shiebler also purchased John Polhamus' firm, the Morgan Morgans Jr. factory, and patterns designed by A. & W. Wood, Theodore Evans & Co., Albert Coles, and Hebbard and Polhamus. Shieber relocated his factory to Brooklyn, NY where he continued to produce his acquired designs and to create his own patterns. His firm ultimately closed in 1910. Today, Shiebler is known for his incredible sterling flatware, holloware, novelties and jewelry.
