If you fancy mid century modern style, make a bold statement presenting your table with this rare place setting in the "Contrast" pattern, introduced by Lunt in 1956. Lunt's black nylon handles are a glorious counterpoint to sterling silver and emphasizes the combination of silver and plastics used postwar in the United States. This 4 piece place size setting includes (left to right): Salad Fork 6 5/8 inches, Place Fork 7 5/8 inches, Place Knife with modern style blade 9 3/8 inches and Teaspoon 6 5/8 inches. All pieces are in good, estate condition. We recommend using our Tarnish Preventive 6-Piece Silver Place Setting Cloth https://www.etsy.com/listing/779216236 for easy space saving storage.
Lunt Silversmiths is an American manufacturer of fine sterling, silver-plate and stainless steel flatware, holloware, and giftware established in 1902 based in Greenfield, MA. In 1902, George C. Lunt, an engraver in the A .F. Towle & Son company, bought the business and renamed it Rogers, Lunt and Bowlen Co. The company has remained in the Lunt family hands since the founding. In 1935, the name was changed to Lunt Silversmiths, which it remains until today. Lunt's Embassy Scroll pattern was chosen by the U.S. government as its official tableware in all U.S. embassies and consulates around the world. In late 2009, the company sold its name and inventory to competitor Reed & Barton. In early 2010, the company filed for bankruptcy protection and all remaining manufacturing & inventory assets at the factory were sold at auction.
